Bioniche Animal Health discovers, develops, manufactures and markets animal health products worldwide.

 

Headquartered in Canada, the Company was formed in 1979 to develop vaccines and other pharmaceutical-based products for the preventative health management of animal diseases.  Bioniche Animal Health is now a division of Bioniche Life Sciences Inc., a public company (TSX: BNC and ASX: BNC).

 

Bioniche Animal Health markets a broad portfolio of products for companion animals, horses and the livestock industry, with a focus on four key areas:

 

• Reducing reliance on antibiotics (immunology)
• Enhancing reproductive performance
• Preventing disease (vaccines)
• Supporting health and wellness (joint therapies, wound care, specialized nutritional supplements and other natural health products)

 

These products are marketed directly to veterinarians in Canada, the United States, Australia, Europe and China, and through selected distributors worldwide.

 

Bioniche Animal Health has manufacturing facilities in Canada, the United States and Australia, and marketing subsidiaries in most major markets.  With a 100-acre research farm, in-house laboratories, and established relationships with many global universities active in veterinary research, Bioniche Animal Health is renowned for quality products supported by sound science.  The Company's research and development pipeline includes exciting new technologies in the areas of oncology, immunology and reproduction.

 

Major Achievements

 

• Developed a purified follicle stimulating hormone that initiates superovulation.
• Developed a patented immunostimulant for the treatment of equine respiratory disease, neonatal calf diarrhea, and tumours in companion animals.
• Developed methods for the production of polyclonal antibodies.
• Patented the use of hyaluronic acid for the cryopreservation of embryos and tissues of animal and man.

 

Company History

 

• 2011 - Company begins public trading on the Australian Securities Exchange under the stock symbol BNC.
• 2004 - U.S. office opens in Pullman, Washington.
• 2002 - Vetrepharm becomes Bioniche Animal Health on July 1, 2002.
• 1999 - Animal and human health activities merge under Bioniche Life Sciences Inc. for public trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the stock symbol BNC.
• 1995 - Irish office opens.
• 1992 - Vetrepharm expands into human health through the incorporation of Bioniche Inc.
• 1990 - Australian office opens.
• 1980 - U.S. office opens in Athens, Georgia.
• 1979 - Vetrepharm becomes incorporated in London, Ontario.
